Major infrastructure projects include a range of tasks that have to be tackled promptly. To implement projects, a customer needs reliable partners who provide quality work on time. Key players in the construction sector are the joint-stock company Azerkorpu and the design and production company Technomost. The high quality of their work led to the successful entry of the companies into the international market. Today they are actively involved in the implementation of major projects in many CIS countries.
Throughout its period of operation, Azerkorpu has become an undisputed leader in major construction projects in various sectors of the economy. To accomplish its objectives, the company actively introduces new technology, conducts monitoring and analysis of the management system and quality for compliance with the requirements of the standards ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 9001:2008, the environmental management system for compliance with ISO 14001:2004 and occupational safety and health OHSAS for compliance with 18001:2007.
The private company Technomost stands out among Azerkorpu's subcontractors. Over the years of its operation, it has won recognition and credibility from customers and developed a powerful programming framework for advanced and effective design solutions at a modern level. The company has been certified by the well-known Swiss firm SGS for compliance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2008.
Customers of Azerkorpu and Technomost are both domestic and foreign companies. Among them are Azaryolservis JSC, Irrigation and Water Management JSC, Azerbaijan Railways, the Agency for the Rehabilitation and Reconstruction of Azerbaijani Territories, BTC (Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan), Tekfen, Petrofac, Technip, Washington International Inc., Keppel (Kazakhstan LLP), Ukravtodor, the international sea port of Kazakhstan, the Office for Capital Construction and Renovation at the Executive Committee of Kazan in the Russian Federation, the Kyzylorda department of the Road Committee and the South Kazakhstan Regional Department of the Road Committee.
The companies have done an excellent job with a lot of major projects to meet state orders, which were carried out at a high level.
Suffice it to note that Azerkorpu completed the construction of bridges on the Mil-Mugan canal, a settling basin on the Samur-Abseron canal, the pump station PSA2 in Yevlax, the intermediate purification station IRA 1 in Kurdamir, the Xanarx canal, the Alat-Qazimahammad road, large transport interchanges near the metro stations 20 Yanvar and Azizbayov and at the intersection of Ziya Bunyadov and Heydar Aliyev avenues and the reconstruction of a section of the Samkir-Qazax road.
Azerkorpu is currently working on major construction projects - the Taxtakorpu dam, the 110-km Taxtakorpu-Ceyranbatan canal, the 30-km Valvalicay-Taxtakorpu canal, a new channel for the River Araz in Bahramtapa and a bridge over the River Kur at the 55th kilometre of the Alat-Astara road.
As for Technomost, it also has a lot to be proud of. The company that has organized its work according to the requirements of ISO 9001:2008, it is currently working on large projects in the town of Puta, the reconstruction of water supply and sanitation services in Ganca together with a Turkish company, the reconstruction of water and sewage systems in the towns of Goygol and Goranboy, a new channel for the River Araz and original bridges over the River Kur in Salyan and Sirvan.
The company's recent projects also include the construction of large bridges across the River Kurmuk in Qax District and across the River Kur in Samux District, two railway bridges over the River Kur in Poylu, the reconstruction of the Bahramtapa main structure, support structures during the construction of the Taxtakorpu reservoir, the 30-km Valvalicay-Taxtakorpu canal and the Taxtakorpu-Ceyranbatan canal (110 km), a ferry crossing to the Sanqacal oil terminal, the reconstruction of the ferry terminal of the Baku port, ports for border guards in Astara and the village of Turkan, an access road to the Siyazan radar station at the request of the US company Washington International Inc., the construction of two bridges and two underpasses on the Samaxi-Muganli road, 11 bridges and overpasses on the Baku-Samur highway, the country's highest original design bridge with a length of 278 metres and a height of 34 metres on the Tovuz bypass, etc.
In addition, in accordance with the action plan for 2006-2007 to improve the transport system of Baku, Technomost developed and constructed 10 transport and road junctions.
Characteristically, such a large amount of work was carried out to the highest level of quality and within a strict deadline. These factors played an invaluable role in the entry of Azerkorpu and Technomost into the international market, which is undoubtedly a positive development -
Azerbaijani companies are gaining more credibility with foreign partners, and it definitely affects the country's business image in the end. Azerkorpu JSC is involved in projects funded by recognized international financial institutions such as the World Bank, the EBRD, the European Commission, the Islamic Development Bank, and TACIS. According to the founder of Azerkorpu, Afandi Ismiyev, "the company is ready for wider and closer cooperation and participation in the most ambitious modern projects". And this is easily seen by looking at the list of plants, machinery and laboratories controlled by Azerkorpu. For example, there is a factory for the production of metal structures and parts, fitted up with modern computerized metal processing equipment from Germany, Italy and Sweden, which can manufacture bridge superstructures, metallic structures for industrial and civilian buildings, hydro-technical installations, etc.
Azerkorpu and Technomost are actively involved in the reconstruction of the ferry terminal of the port of Aktau in Kazakhstan, in particular, berths No 4 and 5 at the Aktau sea port and marina, in the design of offshore installations at a shipbuilding plant in Aktau, in the expansion of the Aktau international trade seaport to the north and in the reconstruction of the Aktau ferry port.
In addition, Technomost has designed six road junctions in Kazan - the capital of the Tatar Autonomous Republic, while Azerkorpu JSC successfully completed the design and construction of a 322-348-kilometre stretch of the Kiev-Chop highway in Ukraine and began the construction of two trunk roads with a total length of 65 km.
There is no doubt that these projects will be handed over to customers at a high level. Therefore, we can confidently expect that Azerkorpu and Technomost will continue to conquer new heights in international business. It must be noted that Azerkorpu and Technomost have branches in Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Turkey.
