The service centre of 4S company, official partner of the global agricultural machinery manufacturer CLAAS, has recently welcomed its first customers and partners in Baku.

The new service centre is equipped with the most modern diagnostic and service equipment. Customers are offered a full suite of services to purchase CLAAS equipment, as well as to receive necessary training, diagnostics, maintenance and repair. At the same time, the service department will provide 24/7 services during the harvest season.

"President Ilham Aliyev has declared the development of the non-oil sector a priority. The government is taking steps to support innovative agricultural development. In this context, the use of CLAAS technologies by local farmers is contributing positively to qualitative changes in the agricultural sector," Elkhan Alakbarov, head of 4S, said.

Mr. Alakbarov noted that the CLAAS equipment and services have been used in Azerbaijan for several years, which made it necessary to open a single centre that combines all services and products together. At the same time, the Baku office of CLAAS will provide its services not only in Azerbaijan, but throughout the region.

Bernd Lüdewig, Executive Director of Sales and Member of the Board of CLAAS Group, noted that for many years, the Azerbaijani market has been a high priority for the company he represents. "Azerbaijan’s convenient geostrategic position enables it to become a regional centre," Bernd Lüdewig said. He noted that along with selling equipment to farmers, it is also important to increase their knowledge and skills.

4S also considers important the provision of training to farmers. So far, the company has organized several practical trainings in Gabala. During the Field Days held in the Ismayilli region, farmers were introduced to the proper use of German technology for plowing, planting and fertilizing fields. As a result, farmers were convinced of the potential of increasing yields by 40% from the same field, using the same seeds and fertilizers.

In early November, the Field Days were held in the Beylagan region. At the event organised with the support of the Centre for Agrarian Science and Innovation of the Ministry of Agriculture, German experts demonstrated the economic efficiency of the new JAGUAR-850 forage harvesters, LEMKEN plows and other agricultural machinery.

Wassili Seider, Regional Manager of CLAAS Global Sales GmbH, and Bernd Henn of PPMA GmbH & Co.KG, introduced farmers to the proper preparation of feed and the choice of forage technology.

Israfil Ismayilov, head of department at Agrolizing OJSC, who also took part in the event, noted that CLAAS multifunctional equipment allows farmers to perform simultaneously several operations, helping to reduce costs, optimising the time spent on the cultivation of large areas. "JAGUAR-850 combine harvesters are a technological innovation that make it possible to increase productivity, save fuel, positively affecting the soil structure. At the same time, they are simple in operation. We especially need the CLAAS equipment for re-seeding. This will make it possible to increase farmers' incomes significantly," Ismayilov said.

He noted that in Azerbaijan, re-sowing operations were also subsidised, which helps farmers to get large profits with small investments. The use of CLAAS technology is very important for the development of animal husbandry. Mr Ismayilov recommended the farmers interested in the production of forage crops to use the CLAAS equipment.

The director of Garabagh-Tohum LLC, Rajab Orujov, underlined the positive effect of the CLAAS technologies in the economy. "With this technology, we can re-sow the seeds, resulting in a yield of silage maize exceeding 45 tons per hectare. The efficiency of the CLAAS equipment is quite high; it performs several technological processes simultaneously. This technology allows us to improve the quality of crops on the clay soils of the Kura-Araz Plains. The CLAAS equipment can contribute to the development of animal husbandry as well," Mr. Orujov said.

According to Sanan Zeynalov, a representative of the Centre for Agrarian Science and Innovations, after studying all the indicators of the CLAAS combine harvesters, it turned out that the use of this technology is of great importance for the development of the farms in rural communities.

According to Wassili Seider, the German company offers a wide range of equipment for the cultivation and production of high-quality fodder: "These include silage combines, pressing machines including telescopic collectors optimizing logistics.

Innovation plays an important role in the agricultural sector, and the optimisation of the workflow contributes to productivity growth. CLAAS pays great attention to innovation, annually allocating 250 million euros for the improvement and development of new technologies. For example, JAGUAR forage harvesters have three wheat cutting mechanisms, a system of protection against stones and soil clumps, an AUTO FILL automatic harvesting system, and a moisture measurement system during TELEMATICS harvesting."

Established in 2017, 4S company has done a tremendous work in the local market within a short period, selling modern agricultural equipment. Currently, it has two service facilities in Azerbaijan, which also provide mobile services. This contributes to the operational maintenance of equipment. Along with the CLAAS technology, 4S also offers products from world famous brands like Amazon (Germany).
